Memorial Day Weekend, a Weekend to Remember!

We started off our Spring/Summer with an AWESOME weekend!!  We could not have asked for more fun with neighbors, friends, and family.

Evelyn has never had a popsicle or fudgesicle, but I found a recipe on Pinterest and decided to give it a try.  All I can say is that it is such a good thing we gave this to her outside...no explanation needed!
Kids always take time to stop and smell the "roses"
 LOVING it!!

 Chocolate kisses for Nick :)
 "Must. get. every. last. drop!"
 There are no words...
On Friday night we had an impromptu bon fire, s'mores and drinks.  With 33 neighbors showing up, I'd say it was a success!!
 We love our neighbors!
On Saturday, we headed up to Chris's family's house for lunch.  It was a gorgeous day, and Evelyn loved exploring the garden and pond with the gold fish!
Grandma and Grandpa have a beautiful fish pond with lots of flowers and vegetables; Evelyn was enjoying it just like the rest of us do each summer :)

Evelyn discovered Grandma and Grandpa's strawberry patch.  She had no need to wash the strawberries, she was eating them faster than I could take the stems off!

This weekend, Chris took some time to wash and wax his car, and Evelyn had to help of course!
We took a break to watch a butterfly.

We ended our three-day weekend with my side of the family at the playground at Lunkin.  We had a picnic lunch, and the kids were able to run around and have fun at the park!

Celebrating Katie and Baby McHugh!

I wanted to celebrate my sister having her third baby, but she made me promise that I wouldn't throw her a sprinkle; so instead I planned a fun girls day with mom, Mrs. McHugh, Katie, and Liliana.  We started off at the spa getting manicures and pedicures.  After getting pampered, we headed over to Season's 52 where we had a fantastic lunch followed by cute little desserts.  I hope you had a wonderful girls' day, Katie!  We can't wait to meet your new baby boy!
Raspberry Lemonade Spritzer, yum!!

Lunch isn't complete without dessert!

May Play Around the House

It's been such a fun month with Evelyn running around all over the house!  She is literally getting into everything, but we are having fun watching her explore and take it all in :)
Cell phones like to go for walks too, right?
I don't know what I am going to do with this child's hair...this is waking up to a good hair day!
Relaxing in my big girl Adirondack chair from Katie and Kam!
Sometimes, we have rough days too...
Having a picnic with Mommy and Carter in the backyard.
Mommy had to get her car worked on so we walked down the street to Frisch's and had lunch together.
Evelyn absolutely loves this little Easter purse, and she carries it all around the house :)

Mother's Day Weekend

This Mother's Day weekend was so much fun because we were able to spread out the fun over a few days.  On Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa Field and Uncle Greg went to the zoo with us.  It was our first trip of the year, and Evelyn loved it!  She was able to spot the animals and pointed to each of them when she saw them.  It was really nice to share the day with the Fields and celebrate moms!

On Sunday we went to my Grandma's apartment and had lunch with m dad's side of the family.  The kids had a lot of fun showing Great-Grandma how to feed the ducks!
It doesn't get much cuter than these twin girls!
Happy Mother's Day Mom and Grandma!
When we got home we celebrate Mother's Day at our house by opening gifts and planting our vegetable garden.  I was so excited to get our new raised beds planted!  We were able to use our own compost from the past 5 years, and we planted cilantro, zucchini, beans, tomatoes, lettuce, red lettuce, spinach, and strawberries!  We are looking forward to the harvest!
A peak at the garden after a few weeks!

Flying Pig Marathon 2014!

Chris has always enjoyed running and has always wanted to participate in the Flying Pig Marathon.  Well, this year, he finally had his chance!  He trained for months for the big event and felt confident about the run.  We met up with our friends, Emily and Brian, and headed downtown.  Both Chris and Brian were running the half so it was nice for Chris to have someone to start the run with.  Emily, Brian's mom, and I followed along the route to catch them running at different points throughout the race.  It was such a fun, energetic atmosphere, especially at 6am!!
Making their way to the starting line!
We held up a giant pink noodle for Chris and Brian to see as they ran by, and it helped!  They both said they could spot us from a mile away!
1 hour 43 minutes after his starting time, he crossed the finish!

Congratulations Chris and Brian!  Chris is already talking about setting a new PR for next year!

Back Door - 1, Evelyn - 0

Well, someone has sustained their first real injury...  Evelyn has been walking around like crazy!  This afternoon her foot got caught in her dress as she was trying to stand up, and she fell into the door hinge on our back door.  I knew it hurt by the look and sound of the fall, and sure enough, within a few minutes it swelled and started changing colors  :(
