The July 4th weekend was one that we won't soon forget! We had an absolutely fantastic weekend with friends, family, and neighbors!
We started off the weekend on Thursday, July 3. Alex and his girlfriend, Amanda, came into town, and we met them for dinner at Carrabas. Evelyn was excited to see them and surprised them with all of her new words. Friday we vented out and attended the Anderson Fourth of July Parade. My sister's in-laws were in town from California and New Jersey, so they, along with my brother and parents, met us for the parade. We had never seen this parade before, and wow, they did a great job!! It was Evelyn's first parade ever, and she lived it up! I think the people in the parade had more fun watching her and listening to her squeal and yell while she waved "hi" and "bye" to everyone!
Best buddies :)
The family complete with the California McHughs! So fun to get everyone together!
Waving as the first floats went by.
Quinn was getting a kick out of all of Evelyn's waving. She was making everyone laugh!
Grandma and Grandpa with Baby Dean!
Tuckered out on the way home from the parade!
When we got back to my parents' house, we helped get ready for the Fourth of July party. This year was especially special because we surprised my dad at the picnic by having a 60th birthday party for him! We had a large cake with his picture, coffee made with his picture, a magician, a caricature artist, and a large banner. Around 6:30 my immediate family came around to the back yard while singing happy birthday. Dad was very surprised and had a great time! Happy 60th birthday Dad!!
Resting with Grandpa after a nap :)
Surprise Dad! Happy 60th Birthday!
We're happy to celebrate the 4th of July with the California and New Jersey McHugh families!
Enjoying Dan, the Magician!
June and July Birthday hats.
Famous water balloon toss!
Every year my dad puts on an amazing fireworks show, and this year was no different!
On Saturday morning we met my family at Immaculate Heart of Mary church for Dean's baptism. We took family pictures before the baptism on the playground.
Welcome to the church baby Dean!
Just saying hello to Jesus :)
After the baptism reception, Chris, Evelyn, and I went home and took long naps! We were so tired, and it was only Saturday! Sunday we woke up and headed to Kings Island with Dad, Alex, and Amanda. Alex and I had this elaborate plan to hit up as many of the big roller coasters as we could, basically running from coaster to coaster. Well.....after our first ride on the Banshee, we all kind of needed a break! I think we are getting old because it was a bit more rough than we all remembered!!
Waiting in line for Banshee; we were pretty psyched!!
Walking on to the longest inverted roller coaster!
Amanda took on the Pong game and made all three ping pong balls into the same cup to win Scooby! Then, she scored when a stranger bought Scooby from her for $10!! Seriously!!!
She had to carry this thing around for awhile so why not take him on the bumper cars?
Dad loves the bumper cars!
Our little girl was waiting for us when we got home and excited to see us!
It was so nice spending the whole weekend with you two!!
