Happy Birthday Grandma Field!

Grandma Field had a special birthday this year as she was able to celebrate it with her granddaughter.  Evelyn and I spent the day putting up decorations at our house and making brownies for Grandma.  I put Evelyn in her Bumbo seat on the counter, and she watch while I stirred the brownies.  I even let her hold a spoon so she felt like she was helping :)  Mr. and Mrs. Field and Greg came over that evening and enjoyed Chicken and Cranberry Enchiladas.  After dinner Evelyn helped Grandma Field open her presents and watched as Grandma blew out her candles on her brownies!  After putting Evelyn down for bed, we played a friendly game of Scene It Friends addition.  Chris and his mom loved the series Friends, therefore; they knew every answer so Mr. Field, Greg and I watched the two battle it out.  We ended up just playing for fun in the end :)  We hope you had a wonderful birthday Grandma Field!!

Our Wiggly Little Girl

A certain little girl has become quite a wiggly these days.  We used to be able to sit her in her bunny seat and let her play quietly, but this is what I found when we left the room for a few minutes....

 

Looks like we are going to need to start buckling her in!

Evelyn is 5 Months!

 I am a little late posting these pictures as it's almost September, but we have been quite busy this month!  Regardless of how busy we are, someone still had time to turn another month old!!  It's hard to believe, but our little girl is already 5 months!  Time is flying, but we are having SO much fun!

 A few highlights from this month: 
* She is about 16 lbs and 27 inches long
*She is still wearing 3-6 month clothing and size 3 diapers
* She can sit by herself for several minutes
* We thought a tooth was coming in at four months, but it was a false alarm
* She loves to hold onto our fingers and stand up
* She has become quite the little bouncer in her bouncy seat
 * She has a huge smile when we say "Mamamama" or "Dadadadada"
*She rolls onto her belly all the time and even sleeps on her belly sometimes

 

 

Evelyn's Day with Liliana

As Liliana's Godmother, I wanted to do something special with her before she started Kindergarten this year.  She loves Evelyn so much, so I knew that the day would be special as long as it involved getting to spend time with Evelyn.  I invited Liliana over around lunchtime to have lunch with me.  After lunch i had filled Evelyn's baby pool up and asked Liliana if she wanted to play with Evelyn in the pool.  It was so cute watching Liliana take care of Evelyn.  She gave Evelyn her toys and sang to her while she showed Evelyn how to splash in the water.  Evelyn is lucky to have such a sweet cousin!!  Thank you for spending the day with us, Liliana, and have so much fun in Kindergarten!!!

If Only She had Tap Shoes!

Evelyn has been enjoying one of the gifts we received from my Aunt Diane and Aunt Elaine and their families.  At first, she wasn't too sure what she was supposed to do, but now she is a pro bouncing all over the place and playing with all of the fun toys attached!

 

Should we Invest in a Baby Helmet?

This afternoon while Chris and I were playing with Evelyn we caught her newest milestone on video!  After several tries Evelyn was able to sit and play with her toys for several minutes without our help!  Enjoy the attempts below :)

Watch Out Kroger!!!

Today I decided to try something different at Kroger.  I knew I had a lot of groceries to buy, so I thought Evelyn might be more entertained if she were able to sit in the cart and see more people and objects.  Well, she did better than I expected!!  She sat quietly, taking it all in for 1 hour and 20 minutes!!!  I was so proud of her!

 

This is the Life!

One of Chris's favorite things to do in the summer is to relax in his hammock.  Well, he is starting Evelyn off early with this tradition.  The two of them have spent countless afternoons sitting in the hammock watching clouds, leaves, and listening to the bugs below.  I'm sure this will be something the continue each summer.

 

Toes, toes, toes!

Evelyn has officially found her feet, specifically, her toes!  She laces her little fingers between all of her toes except her big toe.  Once they are laced, she pulls her foot towards her face, and puts her big toe in her mouth.  It is the funniest thing, a little gross, but so cute!

 

 

 

Happy Second Anniversary!

It's hard to believe, but two years ago Chris and I said "I do" at St. Thomas More Church!  We still have our Save the Date magnet on our fridge, and we laugh when we see it and wonder how we got to where we are today in such a short time?!  We celebrated our anniversary by taking advantage of Restaurant Week in Cincinnati and going to Jeff Ruby's Steak House for dinner.  We enjoyed way too much food and dessert and walked it off at the 21C, which just opened downtown.  We went to the 21C in Louisville on our first anniversary, so we thought it would be fun to continue the tradition for another year!  We had such a great day and dinner!  Happy Anniversary Chris!!  I love you!

 

Our Giggly Little Girl

Lately our home has been anything but quiet.  In addition to Evelyn trying out her vowel sounds and her singing, we often to hear the sound of her big giggles!  I had to catch a few to share!
