Christmas Eve we went to my Aunt Elaine's house to celebrate Christmas with my mom's side of the family.  It was a smaller group than normal as many of my cousin's were with their in-laws this year.  It was sad not to see everyone, but it was so nice to actually get to catch up with everyone.  Evelyn had a great time with her cousins opening gifts, playing with toys, and participating in a pinata!

Christmas with the Koumoutsos Family!

Chris and i have been so excited to celebrate Christmas with Evelyn.  It seemed to take forever, but Christmas Eve finally came, and we headed over to my parents' house in the morning to celebrate Christmas with my family.  My sister and her family came over, and we all had breakfast together.  After breakfast, we didn't wait any longer; we dug into the presents.  Liliana and Quinn were really into it this year and were squealing with excitement with each thing they opened.

Celebrating Christmas with the Field and Sand Families!

We started off the Christmas season by going to our cousin Brian and Jenny's house to celebrate Christmas with Chris's dad's side of the family.  His cousins, Brian and Jenny, just had baby Abby; so it was so fun to meet her and have all of the kids play together!  We had dinner and dessert, while the kids opened gifts.  After, the adults played the white elephant gift exchange game.  It's always fun getting together with family, and we had so much fun bringing Evelyn with us this year!

Cookies with Grandma Field!

Evelyn and I had a girls' morning with Grandma Field where we make Christmas sugar cookies and decorated them with sprinkles!  Evelyn loves shaking the sprinkles; it's a good thing the lids stay on tight :)  Evelyn wore an apron that Chris's grandma had made several years ago; so it was so fun to watch our little baker in her cute little Christmas apron.  We're looking forward to making cookies for years to come!

 

 After decorating cookies, Evelyn spent some time playing with Grandpa Field.  Two days prior to this visit (Thursday, December 19), Evelyn took her first steps crawling on all fours.  She decided that this was going to be the day she would take on crawling!!  Below are some videos of her crawling!

Festival of Lights!

Chris, Evelyn, and I took advantage of a cloud evening and went to the Festival of Lights with friends, Emily and Brian.  Due to the weather, it wasn't as crowded as it normally would have been the week before Christmas, so it was so nice to be able to walk around and enjoy the lights and the animals.  Several of the animal exhibits were open, so we were able to see the giraffe exhibit, the insects, polar bears, and the elephants.  We were also able to take Evelyn on her first carousel ride!  We weren't sure what she would think, but she had a huge smile on her face, and love going round and round and up and down.  Thank you, Emily and Brian, for such a fun night!!

 

 

Watch Out World; Here I Come!

 

The Field home has been anything but quiet and boring!  A certain little girl has discovered that she can move beyond just rolling around the room.  For about two weeks Evelyn found that an army crawl would get her anywhere she wanted to go!  Here is a video of one of the first few army crawls!

Xavier Christmas Party

 Chris, Evelyn, and I went to our friends, The Hart's house for our annual Christmas Party with our Xavier friends.  It is always so nice to see everyone and catch up, and this year was no different except that we had some new kiddos at the party! Bo and Erin Hart have a little boy, Quint, who is just 3 weeks older than Evelyn.  At the party we had Quint show Evelyn how to crawl and stand up on her own.  Little did we know that she would take notes and try crawling that week!  Thanks for hosting such a fun Christmas party Bo and Erin!  We had a great time and are looking forward to next year!
