Evelyn's Baptism

Today was a really special day for Evelyn and our family.  Evelyn was baptized into the Catholic church at Guardian Angels Parish.  Chris and I have been attending Guardian Angels for quite sometime, and we recently became members.  We really like our church and the parishioners and are very excited to watch Evelyn grow and become an active member of our faith.

We celebrated her big day by going to 10:00 mass.  After mass we came home and began to get her ready for her big moment.  Evelyn wore a baptism gown that has been in our family for 100 years!  It was worn by most of our family members and was exciting for us that Evelyn could wear it on its 100th year!   Both sides of our family met at Guardian Angels at 1:00, and Evelyn was baptized by Father King at 1:30.  Evelyn was joined on the alter by Chris and I as well as my sister, Katie, as her Godmother and Chris's brother, Greg, as her Godfather.  She did very well during the private ceremony and only whimpered and wiggled a little while Father poured the baptismal water on her forehead.

Following her ceremony we took pictures with Father King and with members of the family.  We then headed back to our house for a nice lunch honoring Evelyn.

During her party, Evelyn wore Chris's baptism gown.  It was really special for us for her to wear a baptism gown from both sides of our families.  She looked so beautiful.  We want to thank all of our family for sharing in this special day for Evelyn as she was welcomed into our church.  We feel so blessed to have such wonderful families that will be active participants in Evelyn's faith journey.
